Will Ferrell Carries A Breast Pump to The Golden Globes, Maggie Gyllenhaal Nurses While Getting Ready for The Awards and Brooke Burke Breast Feeds

Bookmark and Share

Here’s the latest from LA…
Will Ferrell and his wife Viveca Paulin carried a breast pump (click here for excellent photo!)to the Golden Globe Awards last night. Maggie Gyllenhaal got her hair and makeup done for the Awards between nursing sessions. Plus Brooke Burke, co-host of Rock Star Supernova (love the show!), is breastfeeding her third child.
Pretty meaningless information in the grand scheme of life. So why do I bother to bring you these stories? Oh I don’t know…maybe I hope it will bring some new readers to this site. But that aside, it is nice to see people in the spotlight…or on the “red carpet”… talking about breast feeding.

I love your “meaningless information.” It lets breastfeeding mothers know there are others out there dealing with the same issues!

I think it’s always a good thing to hear about celebrities breastfeeding as they have such an influence on young people. And anything that helps the breastfeeding cause has got to be good!

My only question was why Will Ferrell’s wife is using a Medela Classic. It’s such an old model. Maybe they were going for a retro look?

The Medela Classic is still a great pump; some lactation consultants recommend it as the pump of last resort, when no other pump seems sufficient to establish a milk supply for certain women. I thought the photo I saw a little ha-ha funny the way Will Ferrell was carrying it openly like that without a totebag, and where is the tote with the accessories (breast shields, tubing, bottles, cooler for the milk, etc.)? However, I still say, kudos to Will and his wife, even if they were doing it that way just to make a positive statement for breastfeeding and breast pumping.

couldn’t Will have carried the pump in a tote bag, give me a break, so his wife is breastfeeding, not like it hasn’t been done before!
